ČVUT INFC

In early 2026, the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) launched the ČVUT Interdisciplinary Near Future Challenge (ČVUT INFC). The programme brings together young researchers from different faculties and disciplines. It supports bold, high-risk projects that reach beyond established fields and could lead to breakthroughs in addressing the challenges of the years ahead.

About the programme

ČVUT Interdisciplinary Near Future Challenge

Launched at the initiative of the university’s new Rector, Michal Pěchouček, the programme is funded by private donations. Four donors — WOOD & Company, Pale Fire Capital, Credo Foundation and IOCB Tech Group — have contributed a total of CZK 24 million. In 2026, up to ten research teams will receive support, with each eligible for up to CZK 6 million over a period of up to two years.

We believe that collaboration across disciplines and the courage to explore new ideas help advance science. Private donations complement public funding by enabling a faster response and supporting promising projects before they secure funding through conventional grant programmes.
